Pros

Everyone at minimum has a BS degree Location Sarah and Chris try their hardest. They keep you up as best they can. The only reason that place is still together is them. They look at company mandates and there are multitudes, and filter them. Some managers in other departments have a very strict approach. This is San Francisco. Regardless of where the headquarters are people here are educated and expect to be treated as an adult. Lol I'm thinking,

Cons

Turnover, and training new people. Turnover is worst than Jack in the Box. Panera keeps workers linger. Retention is horrible. Lab workers are treated like machines. The instrumentation is sophisticated. Intense concentration to methods, a requirement. Analytics and data interpretation. Punching a time clock. Personal initiative critical to perform well. However you're treated like you work at a sandwich shop. Everything is forbidden include contributions to your 401k. I think they match .03 percent? Intentionally a analysed to be just below industry. Sad.

A good place to work for maybe 2 years

Pros

Easy to cross-train. Employees mostly friendly. Big enough to learn from different departments, small enough to know everyone (~300 people on-site). Managers are flexible with time off and work-life balance.

Cons

The average annual salary increase is 2%, and the pay is bad to begin with. Promotions are practically impossible. Since the LabCorp acquisition, morale has been very low due to layoffs, attrition, and reduction of benefits. A lot of people seem to like working here because it is easy rather than a good career move.

Pros

People are very nice. Some of the management are doing a great job. If you work hard, you sometimes get recognized for it. QA has an annual party which is a lot of fun. We get a discount with some cell phone companies. People always remember your birthday. Some good things being done at this company for biotechnology.

Cons

No holiday party. LabCorp took over and is imposing their east coast culture on us. 4 holidays were taken away. 2 days of PTO were taken away. If you have not been there long, you now accrue less PTO than before. People who work hourly (mostly everyone) have to "clock in" with badges 8 times a day. No more overtime allowed. Healthcare is expensive. Very low morale. A lot of good people left. More people are scheduled to leave. Very understaffed with stringent deadlines. Labs are crowded. No personal space. Pay is not good.
