Pros

-The product is top notch, company was way ahead of the curve with AI and chatbots (as we’ve seen with the frenzy around ChatGPT) -People are really bright, lots of engineers from FAANG -The people are generally very pleasant to work with -Competitive Pay (Salary)

Cons

Hype Train has come to a screeching halt.. The company massively over hired and irresponsibly spent money (too many happy hours, dinners, lavish team trips to Vegas, LA, Scottsdale). The best allocation of these funds was a ridiculous 2M+ “Worktopia” marketing campaign. The Chief People Officer departed and culture has eroded. There’s been silent layoffs for the past 6 months with employees not knowing when/if they will be terminated. Those employees that departed were given two weeks severance. The employees that were allowed to stay? Their 401K plan was demolished and raises/refreshers are now only permitted to those who are promoted. Sales are down. Options are underwater. IPO dreams seem like a distant memory. Our biggest partners have nestled with different solutions and competitors are nipping at our heels. The executive has controlling ownership of the company, and will continue to watch it implode melting in their own arrogance.

Pros

Nice office, perks like Vegas trips

Cons

Let me paint a picture for you. In a tough year for the company, where we suffered through layoffs, pay freezes, 401k cuts, office closures, all sorts of benefits cuts... our C-suite did not mention any of that on wide forum. Whether it be fear or cowardice, they never faced the music for a rapidly decreasing employee morale. Now that being said, what did they choose to discuss during company all hands instead? Remodeling their kitchen floors, their thousand dollar Gucci belts, Michelin star dinners, and more! I can't make this up. You're conducting silent layoffs after layoffs were supposedly over and this is how you choose to communicate to your employee base. When you work for a start up you need to have conviction in the leadership. This ain't it.
