Pros

1. Good Salary, bonus 2. decent HR Policies. 3. work life balance ( depends on the team ) 4. good canteen facilities , free food, snacks

Cons

1. technically outdated, using century old java version. no hope of learning further and high chances to degrading the personal technical background. 2. management is very conservative to change. 3.very old employees were treated royally.many of them promoted to senior positions. they are totally outdated/ .they are good in lobby, politics . 3. need to shout for anything..spam the inbox. then only the things would move. 4. there is no fair policy in promotions. normally the people in the good ranks with senior peoples will get promotions . 5. the people good only in talking are treated good. people who never coded anything are holding the position as architect . 6. after few years will become technically outdated , need to pass the rest of the life in NDS only. as no other company will respect this skill set. 7. called as product company but working in service mode

Pros

1. Good food and canteen facilities. 2. Good work life balance if you are an manager and above 3. Yearly Bonus out of Salary 4.Leader in the Set Top box software, can learn lot about the domain 5. good place to retire.

Cons

1. outdated java technology used. will forgot everything in java after working for a year in NDS 2. the old employees were promoted too early. they are lagging badly on technical skills as well as managerial skills. working under them is quite difficult. 3. politics on high end. only the people are friendly with managers and architects will get promoted. architects play a high role on promotions. they will deny promotion if the candidate found more talented when compared to them. 4. there is no open policy and nothing stable at NDS. company management is worst. 5. the old employees behavior to the juniors is very worst. 5. after working in NDS for few years , the person will be outdated badly in the technical skills, no other company will take them. needless to say..they have to pass on their life in NDS only.

Not a good place to be in

Pros

Free snacks, literally that's the only good thing about this place. But this also won't be there from April 2012 onward.

Cons

1> They take people for core java development, calls for some nut breaking interviews. But when one will actually start with the work, one could find out how pathetic it is! One will end up changing only xmls. So you'll enter the company as a lion and will end up being a mule! Seriously. You may ask anyone. 2> One's career will shrink with time. You'll learn nothing but how to change xmls and how to use IBM Clearcase and Clearquest. 3> Management is is shallow in experience. Only in this company you will find people having 4-6 years of experience have become Team Leads! And, obviously, they lack managerial skills. 4> Promotions are totally biased. People having lesser experience (be it overall or only NDS experience) and have done lesser amount of work might get promoted before an eligible candidate. 5> Work life balance = 0. One must stay 'in office' for at least 40 hours a week even if you're done with your work and after that you might also end up working during the weekend at times.
