They will hire anyone. Pretty much everyone there is high, on or off the job. The drugs vary, but I didn't het close to anyone to find out what everyone is on. People drink on the job as well. They drink or get high while driving. The trucks are falling apart. I can't imagine even half of them are safe to drive. The owner is oblivious to what goes on, but it's more that he doesn't care, as long as the job is done.
Some of the work is tough. Loading and unloading trucks. Lifting heavy equipment. Moving things through hotels and convention centers.
The schedule is non-existent. You never know if you are working till the night before. You might not work for days, or even a week or more. But since you don't have a set schedule, you can't get another job. The work is seasonal, if you are not in favor with the boss, you might not work for long stretches. New employees are not really taught anything. Learn quick, or you won't survive. You might have bad travel arrangements. Super long drives for days. Trucks without AC or heat. Late nights. Early mornings. You almost always lose your weekends. Often you work 10 to 16 hours without a break to eat. Often you drive your own car for jobs, but you don't get paid for gas. You are lucky to get an EZ Pass, even luckier if it works. Expect to get cuts and bruises.
