45% positive business outlook
Pros
remote, some nice people, flexible hours
Cons
Lack of transparency to the point of being deceitful. Very low salary. A mid-sized company experiencing growing pains.
Pros
Remote work and decent pay
Cons
Poor management, poor work-life balance, insufficient training/support
Pros
Mission focused company, people are nice
Cons
Pay is low for profession, don't protect their trans employees from clients
Pros
Thoughtful hiring processes; Diversity and inclusion is a priority.
Cons
Organizational maturity is severely lacking. Huge government projects are put into the hands of new employees with little oversight and guidance from product and leadership. Projects are consistently understaffed which makes work/life balance impossible. The work is difficult, unclear, disorganized. Priorities on projects change weekly. Sometimes year long projects never ship. Still very much a start-up. Pay is low compared to other start-ups.
Pros
A variety of interesting projects. Generous benefits. Depending on project, the ability to work with modern tools and languages. The chillest place I've ever worked in my 16+ year career.
Cons
Sometimes, working with government clients can be challenging. The pay isn't low, but it isn't high either. It's good enough for me!
Pros
Nava is the most employee centric company I have seen in 20+ years. Their leaders are extremely knowledgeable, compassionate, and passionate about Civic Tech. I have been given extraordinary opportunities at Nava, and I have enjoyed every day I've worked here for the past 2 1/2 years. Nava offers excellent pay, generous time off (more than most companies), and covers 90% of employee's medical costs. There is truly no place better to work than Nava.
Cons
I really tried to think of at least one con, but there aren't any.
Pros
Work centered around a mission; Well-suited for remote work; Very focused on the employee, diversity, and inclusion
Cons
Pay a bit lower than industry
Pros
Work that aligns to my beliefs, great work location flexibility, a company that treats you like an adult, leveling up policy to evaluate if you were brought in at the right level after 4 months
Cons
Pay is lower than industry, the work is tough since government moves slow and we are trying to shake up the whole civtech industry
Pros
This company has a strong focus on DEI and community service. The pay is competitive and there are over 30 paid days off, not including the unlimited sick time. Benefits are excellent and the teams truly value their employees. They are fully remote as well.
Cons
Company is still small but growing aggressively. I have no complaints so far.
