Pros

- Neuralink has some of the smartest people in the world. - It is an extremely engaging work environment, with a large cross-disciplinary team

Cons

- Management is horrible. One person thinks they know everything. - You can't disagree with management, any intellectual discussion is stifled - Upper management never learns from their mistakes - Only sycophants are put in charge

Pros

- Free food every day - Great people (overall) - Interesting work - Nice swag - Solving an incredibly dynamic/complex problem that will change many lives

Cons

Management doesn't know what they're doing. A good employee does not equate to a good manager, which seems like a consistent pattern here. People work on holidays, or almost 10+ hours a day, which is a clear reason why they hire junior engineers. Any senior/mid-level engineer would recognize that this isn't sustainable.

The most interesting company, in the world

Pros

I think we are tackling the most important and interesting challenge in the world, today. There isn't another company that's doing something as interesting and as critical as Neuralink. It feels like a privilege to be part of this mission. + We are working with the absolute best talent there is for what we do. + Everything is new, it's a brand new territory. + We get to work with folks from diverse backgrounds and different experiences. + People here put the company's mission first, always.

Cons

Working on such a challenging problem isn't easy, every day. There are many lows and a few highs, that's the price to pay when you work at a place like Neuralink. - Because what we do is so interdisciplinary, it's challenging to get everyone to align. - At Neuralink, if you are not on engineering you run the risk of becoming a secondary consideration. - This company has many junior people - that comes with its own set of challenges. - Flat structure allows us to move fast but it can be confusing at times (ex: lack of accountability, who makes the final decision etc...)

Hello! Thanks for taking the time to write a review. Your observations are spot on in terms of pros and cons. As you mentioned, “a little process won’t hurt anyone” and our leadership team couldn’t agree more! In the coming months, we’ll be working hard to strike a balance between organizational structure and startup mindset. If anything else comes to mind feel free to share directly to hr@neuralink.com. Thanks again!
