Good from far, far from good

Pros

Provides a good base salary but lacks additional incentives (e.g promotion, recognition ) which affects the long term engagement. Exposure to multiple technology stack is beneficial for new comers

Cons

Mentorship by seniors is lacking and training is on the job which might not be the best way to improve productivity of workers.

We are sorry if your journey with us had let you down — we wanted to take time to digest and respond your comments thoughtfully. Here it goes: 1) We have introduced several programs throughout the employee journey, starting from the peer program when someone joins us, coupled with other regular and ad-hoc mentorship and training sessions. This is something we want to continue improving on. 2) We have also chosen to concentrate our rewards on salaries, which can be then spent on whichever benefits people see fit. That has created a straightforward reward framework that most of our people seem to enjoy. 3) When it comes to internal communication, our team leaders are being encouraged to provide more frequent feedback, and drive transparent and honest conversations within the team and the organisation. For example, The Sync, our bi-annual all-hands event and our main alignment and bonding platform. Improving communications is something we will continue to prioritise. We appreciate your feedback, and we will work to address those concerns shared by you.

Pros

Possible to attain high salary. Very high calibre engineers. Impact to product is recognized and rewarded. Interesting "researchy" problems. International & multicultural teams. Many opportunities to travel pre-covid19, and generous work-from-anywhere policy during covid19.

Cons

The scope of work is quite large. Still quite a lot of "on the job training". The large code base in some products is not for the faint of heart.

It is a pleasure to see that your journey with Niometrics has been positive and enriching. We take pride in building excellent software and constantly strive to recruit and reward the right people who can contribute to that. As a fast-growing firm, there is much more homework for us to do in how we organise and manage ourselves. We want to keep building more of the ‘good’ corporate habits that will make our lives more effective, while avoiding the ‘not-so-good’ ones that may slow down our way of doing things.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We love the comment in your headline, and cannot agree enough! As you have rightly pointed out, there are challenges in every business environment, and it is a nod to the resilience and quality of the Niometrics team and technology that our growth has been driven entirely by revenue since our inception more than 10 years ago. While there is definite value in having the flexibility and agility to chart our own course, we are always open to explore new opportunities that will enable us to continue delivering excellence to our partners and clients. Regarding compensation, indeed we have decided to focus on higher base pays rather than bonuses. This has created a straightforward remuneration framework that most of our teams seem to appreciate. Last but not least, we are glad that you are enjoying the people and culture element in Niometrics. It is something we have been working hard on to make Niometrics a better place for our people to work in. Like many other companies that have offices across multiple regions, our teams often work across different time zones. That may make coordination a little more challenging at times, but we have found that our people are always up for the challenge, and in the process, also enjoy the exposure to different cultures and personalities that come together in a unique blend that makes us proudly Niometrics. Happy to have you onboard!
