Pros

Discounts and experience gain. You get to shop and see all merchandise before the public.

Cons

you work 5 times more than what you get paid. They make you build furnitures and do things that are not part of your position. There was an old lady that had asthma and she applied to be a cashier but they had her do very physical activities that had nothing to do with a cashier position and still get paid 17/ hour. They also cut your hours whenever they want if you’re part time, they would give as little as 5 hours at week and won’t even give the chance to do extra hours and nobody can survive getting paid for five hours and be over worked. As an extra information, after the seasonal positions were finished, they decided to keep some of the employees offering them a permanent position, but the interesting part here is that they only let go to the people who were African American looking (if you know what I mean) and that’s something that all employees obviously noticed and talked about.

Pros

Constantly undermined for my work, even though I had the work ethic of 3 managers simply because I didn’t hang around and chat with the populars or the Gm. Other people got raises and promotions, except me. I was the one that trained over 13 new hires after they re-open because of the Covid Shutdown. Still no praise even though boosting #s, and got my hours cut. At some point I realized there’s no point in having that kind of extraordinary work ethic just for the management to bully you regularly, which eventually turned into them cutting my hours all the way down to just one 5 hour shift a week -so I left. The little time I was there, they treated me like a manager called me for help constantly and gave me special tasks no one else received even though the new people made 50c more than me at starting pay. I asked for a raise but was told to wait 1 year. That’s not fair!!! Discount is not that great and they treat employees like they’re thieves even though they watch the same customers come in and steal things everyday (but can’t do anything) lol. Over 1 year there in 2021-22 waiting for a change I can’t believe I stayed so long and I know they saw a decrease in sales performance when I left.

Cons

Discount, Hours, Pay, Benefits, Opportunities for advancement
