too many people in leadership and not enough people below them. one director can have 2 people reporting to them .... why does a sr director need 4 directors and those 4 directors each have at least 2 reporting to them ...

--management expresses how what you do is in your job description -- true -- if you merge everyone's job description together
--perception is key - make sure you keep your seat warm for 40 hours even if you put in more than 40 it is irrelevant if management does not see a warm body in your seat
--promotions are given if you know people. they already have people in mind but still put you through the interview
--directors dont know what they are doing so give their jobs to people below them and still disregard the fact that you did their work
--performance reviews should be renamed to personal preference reviews
--some departments have extremely high turn over rates - in the last two years only one person is left who has been there for 1 year ... yet directors do not question
--management worships the ground that the "Csuite" walk on -- make sure you get thorough approval before you talk to them otherwise you will be interrogated
