Previously was the work variety, work life balance and decent pay.Reservoir description, enhancement, modeling all interesting deliverables in one place. With the downturn of course it's slow, however, several layoffs and distracting re-org's have everyone wondering who is leading the ship. There are very talented and diverse backgrounds here ranging from geoscientists to Res engineers to techs and high quality admin professionals with great attitudes in a time of adversity.
Cons
Another case of top heavy senior to c-level management (imagine ~45 employees after several layoffs in a year, governed by multiple c level officers and senior management, no one comprehends who leadership is, if any at all. After several years of employment, never received reviews nor a raise, potential to grow, as usually promised by many corporate leaders in this industry, never occur unless you are on the side of someone's personal good graces, regardless of your academics, effort, marked achievements and dedication.
