Pros

Coworkers (this excludes anyone who is in a position of management or higher)

Cons

- Do you love doing the work of 4 people while being micromanaged? Then this is the job for you. In addition to being assigned a substantial amount of work without much assistance, whenever you do decide to seek guidance, you will be advised "trust your gut" while never receiving a concrete response. - You will be assured that your one-on-one meetings with your manager serve as safe spaces where you can freely express your frustrations. However, it is important to note that these meetings do not truly guarantee confidentiality. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of confiding in my manager the challenges I faced when working with the director and she proceeded to tell the director what I said a manager meeting. - You will be terminated without severance just before the holidays due to budget cuts while the directors, VPs and ownership are still making 6 figures. - The benefits are terrible. The cost of their health insurance is only cheap for anyone living in Illinois which is ridiculous because 90% of their workforce lives in other states and works remotely. - Time off is extremely limited. On the occasions when I took more than a few days off (never more than one week at a time), I returned to find significant changes in my job responsibilities. - Zero growth opportunities. - Being on call from Friday night to Monday morning for emergencies but only being compensated 8 hours of PTO that you probably won't get to take anyway. I strongly advise against pursuing employment with Orion Photo Group or any of it's subsidiaries. If your mental well-being and financial stability are of importance to you, it is wise to avoid this organization at all costs. I would also like to add that Orion Photo Group is the parent company of George Street Photo, Lily & Lime, and By Design Films. This information is not publicized and they have even created separate LinkedIn, Glassdoor, and Indeed pages to try to hide negative employee reviews.

Pros

Work when you want (if there's work available on those days) Occasional gratuity from clients Incentives for last-minute jobs are good.

Cons

Have to pay to send the hard drive to editors. Only a small shipping fee, but would be easier to upload from the internet than go out in general. Must use your own equipment.
