Pros

OffSec has a strong and highly respected mission in the cybersecurity space, with work that is meaningful and relevant to a global community. The company attracts talented, driven people and offers exposure to complex, international challenges. There is a high degree of autonomy in many roles, particularly for experienced hires, and real opportunity to shape strategy, build programs, and make a visible impact. For those who enjoy ownership and working in a fast-moving environment, this can be highly rewarding.

Cons

As OffSec scales, it is experiencing some growing pains. Decision-making is often centralised and made with limited visibility, which can lead to downstream misalignment and rework, though there is growing awareness of this and active efforts underway to improve transparency and cross-functional communication. For senior roles, this can mean significant accountability without corresponding clarity or authority, requiring a high tolerance for ambiguity and ongoing stakeholder management.

Thank you for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and balanced perspective. We truly appreciate hearing from team members who are experiencing OffSec during this important phase of growth. We’re proud of the mission we serve in the cybersecurity community and the talented, driven people who choose to be part of that work. Creating an environment where experienced professionals have autonomy, ownership, and the opportunity to make meaningful impact is something we intentionally prioritize. As we continue to scale, we recognize that growth brings complexity. Strengthening cross-functional alignment, improving communication clarity, and evolving how decisions are made are active areas of focus for our leadership team. Building a high-performing global organization requires continuous iteration, and feedback like yours helps us refine how we operate.
