Pros

OnStar is a solid company owned by General Motors and offers two different opportunities in sales management, depending on your educational status. It offers call-center-based sales management positions for individuals without a formal college education and field-based positions for college-educated workers. Although the pay for the call-center-based team was less than for the field team, the benefits included healthcare, a 401(k) and others that you might not normally find in a call-center environment. Sales managers were well trained in the process and the OnStar product and knew management's expectations and had very clear goals.

Cons

Both the call center and field teams called upon sales managers for GM dealers, which worked for entrepreneurial, independent companies (dealerships) that had their own vision of how OnStar fit into their sales mix. Although the product is first-rate, a stubborn dealer sales manager could significantly affect results. The OnStar management team understood this, but sales managers were expected to overcome resistance. Rewards were good for those who succeeded! The structure of the sales managers group is very flat by design, so the opportunities for advancement don't come along very often.

Pros

- There are still people who want the right things - Some still strive for change - Newer technology is there... (not used as it should be)

Cons

Much of leadership is out of touch with reality and the times. The joke among most is that leadership acts as if it is the 1990's. - Unprofessional - Extremely immature environment - No accountability - Massive Silo's with an extreme lack of good process, systems, and communication. - You will not be used for your experience or knowledge - Leadership has no working knowledge on best practices and how to run Enterprise IT - Massive amounts of waste and poor utilization of people and technology - Meetings required for everything and anything. - No focus on the customer - Strategy of charge more instead of drive down the cost - Organization is run on SharePoint and Spreadsheets. (Not a joke) The list goes on and on. This is the best example I've seen of how not to run Enterprise IT. *Note: All of the negative's you read in the other reviews... are true.

Pros

Nice company car work from home Easy product to push Pay dealers to activate onstar

Cons

Base Pay is super low, nobody can live off this income unless they live with their parents or work multiple jobs. Bonus pay out is super low. You get hit for taxes, benefits, personal mileage and I cry every two weeks I get my check.
