A professional group

Pros

A welcoming organisation with various opportunities and training. Many supportive colleagues across the group, in various roles. High standards expected.

Cons

Induction tends to focus on the overall organisation, with role-specific induction not being managed so well. Many localised systems weren't in place and created a great deal of challenge. I don't think this was widespread across the group.

Pros

Consistent caseloads, Small caseload, manageable size, Rewarding working with children, Team of teachers and TAs who genuinely want the best for the children

Cons

Education leadership avoid spending on clinical services • Unwilling to accept feedback or adapt to clinical recommendations • Poor understanding of clinical provisions and how to integrate them • Constant pushback from senior leadership when trying to implement clinical work • Poor staff wellbeing and support – the worst morale I’ve experienced in a workplace • Hostile environment with no proper induction provided • Big ideas at company level but no follow-through at school level • Lack of understanding of how clinical services should operate, with no willingness to change • Some teachers use outdated, non-neuroaffirming practices • Very limited opportunities for support, shadowing, or professional development • No clear development structure • Left to run clinical services independently when other clinical staff left • Education staff do not trust the clinical team and tend to micromanage • Promised four-day working week that never materialised • Most teachers and TAs are actively seeking other employment

Pros

It's the people. Everyone across the Group is a joy to work with. They all chose to work here because it's more than 'just a job'. Working here has meaning and the outcomes our operational teams deliver are inspiring and something to be proud of. The 4-day working week is amazing. The extra day gives me an opportunity for self-care and a perfect work/life balance. Career opportunities are incredible. There is no limit to what people can achieve. The organisation continues to grow and offers people amazing career paths. I've seen people start here as a Teaching Assistant and have progressed to become Regional Directors...wow! There are always lots of opportunities to get involved in projects too and be part of our exciting journey of growth.

Cons

I can't think of any negatives.

Pros

Opportunities to work with and support wonderful young people. Great clinical team. Some dedicated teachers and learning mentors. Opportunities within the company (if they liked you). Some lovely members of SLT who cared about the young people and staff. Welcoming office staff.

Cons

Became less child centred over the years Poor pay. Poor work/life balance. Ineffective and unprofessional SLT. Staff wellbeing not prioritised-shop floor staff required clinical supervisions to support with secondary trauma. Very cloak and dagger, no loyalty towards staff that dedicated years supporting the young people and families. Quick to get rid of people whose face don't fit. Inconsistent. Not all shop floor staff were welcoming. Safeguarding concerns not addressed if they raised issues against protected staff. Culture were bullying is ok. Advertise 4 day working week and nobody actually worked 4 days.

Thank you for your review, we agree we’re lucky to have such lovely people in our organisation. Our 4DWW / Reduced Hours initiative has recently been relaunched, with input from colleagues across the organisation to ensure consistency and provide teams with clarity on best practice. It's disappointing to hear that you felt there was some conflict within the team during your time with us. We encourage colleagues to reach out for support if they ever experience this. We have some great examples of how our Education and Clinical teams working effectively together and the amazing outcomes they achieve for our pupils by doing so. Many of our Schools have recently been awarded accreditations, which have been developed based on our clinical Trauma Informed Practice and Ask Accept Develop models, to showcase the brilliant work they achieve together.

Pros

I relish every day the opportunity to work in a supportive environment alongside high calibre professional colleagues all focused on enabling best outcomes for all pupils in our schools and colleges. The 4 day working week is appreciated as it supports my own wellbeing. I don't mind going above and beyond at times as a result.

Cons

We are a big group so can be hard to get to know everyone really well at times

Cons

work load can be heavy at times - it is difficult to manage it all at times / alongside personal life commitments communication emails / teams messages, etc - they seem to come from 'everywhere' it is time-consuming to keep up with / respond to - which further impact my getting through my own workload.
