Very good place to work but it all depends on the location
Pros
This is an amazing place to work if you are a university student or recent graduate. The starting pay is also higher than minimum wage jobs and the hours are pretty flexible. I've worked at a few different Oxford Learning Centres over the past 7 years and can confidently say that your experience as an employee depends entirely on that particular centre's management! The location I am at currently is wonderful. We are encouraged to cater to each child's needs and have the freedom to approach teaching in our own ways. The environment is high energy but very supportive which is completely different from my old center where management was quite oppressive and lacked empathy for its students and staff. Teaching is quite fulfilling and being able to make a kid's day or genuinely see them understand a concept makes it worthwhile.
Cons
As long as you don't mind giving up your evenings and waking up early on Saturday mornings, the hours are pretty good. This is obvious but dealing with children can be exhausting! Teaching three kids at once who are all at different grade levels requires a lot of patience, skill, and time management. There's not too much room for growth at an individual centre. You can move into administrative/management positions if you want to stay in the field of teaching, management needs support, or, you work there for long enough.
