Great People awfully managed

Pros

You get to work with very nice and experienced people. If they still around by the time you get hired.

Cons

Highly incapable management, experienced senior engineers feedback is asked and then ignored all the time, you get to work for (junior manager playing junior developer) kind of people, you are blamed for not meeting irrational deadlines and asked for "extra effort" all the time without compensation, your manager telling you stuff like "paychecks stop coming", "if you care enough you will be putting more hours, ...." are very usual. Your hard work is rarely recognized. During my time there I saw lots of very talented and experienced engineers leaving.

High Turnover Stay away!!!!!

Pros

Best day of the job was the day I quit.

Cons

Management is the main problem at this company. Their knowledge or should I say lack thereof is the reason this company has such a high turnover which is a bad sign to begin with. They promise you promotions and more pay but no action. Too many chiefs not enough indians. Work/life balance is non existent. Expect calls at all hours of the day by micromanaging supervisor with minimal knowledge in the point of sale business.

Camraderie among team mates, time off, decent benefits, Culture Committee events

Life/Work Balance nonexistent, loads of extra duties/mission creep, promotions are senseless, psychotic scheduling, few raises or bonuses, no overtime potential in spite of the relentless call volume, work falls to people with a responsible mindset while others simply coast, fear of New Hartford's latest maniacal edicts loom over you like Death itself, obsolete support software and ill-designed processes make simple tasks into nightmarish hell grinds, furious customers that take their frustration on the inefficient, byzantine processes out on CSRs and Techs. You will be forced to rip your own heart out and hand it to irate, half-literate yokels who will hurl it to the concrete and gleefully grind it into a bloody paste over ludicrously unimportant report issues and your team members - and management - will hurl you under the bus to gain enough breathing room to survive themselves... nothing personal though. Abandon ye all hope and defer the call.
