      Great causes, good growth, low wages, steep learning curve

      Pros

      If you believe in the causes and would do this kind of work without being paid, it is a great program. Tons of training provided, plus you get to work with awesome college students.

      Cons

      Steep learning curve if you weren't involved in the program as a college student. Also, a large portion of the job is securing the funding to keep your job, which means less time spent on the issues when the school board votes on financing in the spring. It's a lot of backdoor politics. Very little work-life balance and super low pay, which equates to a high turnover rate for campus organizers.
