Pros

Outstanding team of workers. Everyone works so hard, and builds lasting relationships amongst themselves as that's the only way you'll survive the toxic management.

Cons

There’s a saying that employees don’t leave companies, they leave managers - here they leave Shirley Dixon, VP of Children and Family Services. Not only does she threatened to fire staff on a daily basis, but on top of that she creates an everlasting hostile work environment. She loves to demean people, talk about employees behind their back, and then fires whoever speaks their mind. There is no room to build leadership skills, as the VP trust no one and believes in order to do something right, she needs to do it herself. There is absolutely no staff recognition or gratification of employees. She believes PLCCA has been successful merely because of her therefore there's no reason to show appreciation to staff. She loves to fire people after federal audits, accreditations, or any special reviews. She will make you work like there is no tomorrow, and the day you pass the audit she will walk you out the door.

Pros

I found the starting salary to be decent

Cons

Negative environment. Full of micro managers from top down who don't appreciate staff. Heard bad things about the child care center and VP but it happens all over the agency. Therefore, the agency has a very high turnover rate. In addition, agency is loosing a lot of funding and in danger of shutting its doors. No raises, terrible benefits.

Pros

Some of the Teachers are actually passionate about their jobs. The families are also great and involved in their children's education.

Cons

No raises, limited supplies, and expected to keep your head down and work. You may get fired if your not someone's favorite...
