Pros

It can be a cool product to work in for IoT passionate developers

Cons

Inexperienced executive team comprised of people with zero working knowledge in the subject matter and departments they lead. This isn’t new in startup world. But while some start up execs manage to rise above ego driven decisions and listen to the experts they hire, this team does not. This creates a super toxic, political environment where success depends on your ability to win their favor instead of doing a good job and building the business. Day to day, this translates to systemic and dirty office politics amongst mid level management as people work mostly to show each other up to win favors. This type of competition feels very much encouraged by the executives in return. If you ever, no matter how delicately, contradict an idea the CEO has, you’re done forever. This was easily the most toxic environment I’ve ever worked in.

Pros

- The CEO seems to have a clear vision for the future of the company - Senior executive team members are smart and driven. They just need to find their marketing counterpart. - Engineering and sales teams are knowledgeable and passionate about the work - Ability to work remotely

Cons

Immature managers - After giving my resignation, I was unable to have a proper handoff because I was met with the most ridiculous day-long temper tantrum, resulting in me having to limit all communication writing with this person during my two-week transition period. Witnessing that level of disrespect and immaturity further confirmed that severing ties with this company was the right decision. Lack of collaboration and professional growth - Because managers and colleagues are junior, they rely heavily on more senior person/people on the team to help with the day-to-day duties and advise on strategy and best practices. This type of environment is not conducive to professional growth or development for the more senior individual and feels like you are giving more than you are receiving. Some team members won't take the initiative to learn the things they don't know or have experience with. Nice benefits package, but... - While the benefits and perks are great, I would give up some things in order to have a more collaborative environment where there's mutual respect among colleagues. I worked remotely and had to avoid and work around colleagues with negative attitudes. The disrespect by colleagues took its toll on me while working remote, so imagine what that feels like for someone working in the office everyday. A positive work environment is more important than unlimited snacks and Lyft credits.

Pros

Company had remote operations for most of the staff.

Cons

Company treated their staff poorly, adhered to the wrong advice, and painfully underpaid. Upper management is poorly misguided. Do yourself the favor and do not work here.
