Pros

Flexible schedule-Good work life balance-

Cons

The culture does not value career motivated professionals. If you are someone looking for a job vs a long term career this is the place. The is no incentive to stay and grow in the company. The company DOES NOT offer performance evaluations, 401k match or tuition reimbursement. There is absolutely no opportunity for annual salary increases (per company policy) regardless of performance (no performance evaluations). It is rumored there were bonus opportunities prior to 2017 but since then there have been none.

Performant Response

We appreciate your feedback and are sorry to learn you felt undervalued as an employee. While we do attempt to formally evaluate employee performance on an annual basis, managers and employees are encouraged to discuss performance and areas of improvement regularly. We believe continual monitoring and ongoing discussions regarding performance and goals help drive our employees to be more successful. Moreover, our policy does not expressly prohibit salary increases; however, our compensation structure is driven by adding clients, increasing productivity, and outperforming the competition. As a result, Performant’s compensation structure—comprised of base pay plus incentive pay for accomplishing specific goals—is designed to reward employees who help the company achieve client goals by delivering dollars back to our clients. The incentive portion rewards employees for performance and has no cap. This means an employee has unlimited earning potential.

Pros

The salary or pay was okay.

Cons

They don't have a dashboard or platform of any kind to work from. ALL work is in incomplete & unformatted MS Excel SS. Those SS are distributed whenever. No set schedule for getting new SS. When the new SS are sent out, they don't have a member 1st or last name, member DOB, member address, member last 4 od SS, member employer or the correct insurance co name that we're required to call. The ONLY words leadership can say is "Do The Best Ya Can". How can employees meet the required metric with SS that are missing up to 70% of the info we needed to complete a COB/verification call? I lived in fear of not meeting the daily metric. I found myself working 10 hours M-F and working on weekends. HR policies are archaic. They DO NOT have a standard 401k. Performant doesn't match ANY MONEY employees put into the retirement plan. They micro-manage everything. Your required to contact HR for EVERYTHING. Even permission to change your address. Performant works out of Work Day. Employees should be able to update their own mailing address or banking info. I had to review everything HR did b/c they made mistakes all the time. They paid me for time I didn't work & then recouped money from future pay checks. They got my new address wrong. They've only been in the healthcare game for about 3 years. I was with them for 2. They have not learned anything yet. They use other client's credentials to access info/portals for different clients. They have VERY little to zero payor portal access b/c they aren't a medical provider. The phones are ALWAYS going down. Stressful - Stressful - Stressful. Do not walk. RUN away from this place.

Pros

Most of the lower level employees are great and I did learn a lot over several years.

Cons

The company is stagnant and has not had a profitable year since 2014, so it is not surprising that the company DOES NOT give raises or bonuses to non-management employees. Despite this, the current president has had his total compensation increase from $440,000 in 2017 to over just over $1 million in 2022. HR and upper management are completely out of touch and blame each other for the **** show at PFMT. They make promises(401k match?) that they do not follow through with and the other reviewers are speaking the truth about the gaslighting and predatory practices.

Pros

Working remotely Job is interesting

Cons

No maternity leave (crazy considering we have a female CEO)! The company will provide California based pregnant women with California mandated benefits but will not offer those to women outside of California. So basically only work here if your state will protect you because Performant will not. So if you’re a young professional women, do not work here! No raises EVER so negotiate upon your initial offer. No 401k match. Not great benefits, standard 2 week vacation. Internally, middle management is very difficult to deal with, lot of arguing and control issues. Never focused on the solving the problem, often focused on finding who made the mistake instead of correcting it.

Pros

If your manager is good, then it's a good place to work. Low cost 401k but no match. Fidelity is the 401k provider, which is great.

Cons

Healthcare options are not great. They would not negotiate the PTO to increase it.
