Pros

- Hands-on Experience to move up at another company. - Good starter job before growing in the field - Access to try expensive wines and learning in the industry

Cons

- No commission for grocery sales, which is 50% of the revenue. - Salary, which is fine if it were 8-5, but it rarely is. You work 8-5 in the field, then they ask you to complete all this admin work at home, which doesn't usually end till 7pm. It's a strain on family life. - If you want PTO from October to the end of December, prepare to be disappointed. They don't allow it. - Insurance is just okay. You can also only have dependents on your insurance if your spouse doesn't have the ability to get insurance through their work, which kind of stinks. - If there are mandatory dinner meetings, you will not be getting paid OT for them; you are just expected to show up regardless of what's going on at home, even if it doesn't end till 10PM. - Work/Life Balance is atrocious unless you are high up in the company. It's a "do as I say, not as I do" environment. - Turnover rate for good employees is atrocious because they don't care to invest in them. Instead, the good employees leave, and they hold on to bad employees forever because they are constantly having to find replacements for the roles the good employees left behind. This forces managers to step into sales roles and do two jobs at once without compensation, and then they experience serious burnout. -Negotiating for a legitimate raise is impossible. - Wear and tear on your vehicle. Honestly if they hired 1099, the empoyees would be better off writing off their wear and tear on the vehicle than collecting the stipend and mileage reimbursement they give. It's barely enough to even cover the cost of a payment on a car, never mind the gas, new tires and brakes, oil changes etc. There's a LOT of wear and tear on your car in this field. Sales reps and managers are driving A LOT.
