Lack of Transparency

Pros

If you live in the East Bay it is a good commute. Mostly friendly coworkers and you feel like you are helping the healthcare industry.

Cons

Working at PointCare was a unique experience. They always make it seem like things are on the up and up, when in reality they aren't. Not a transparent company. For example, they will highlight big wins, which they should, but they won't recognize big losses like churn on accounts, etc much It felt like everything was going well all the time when behind the scenes I doubt that.was the case. Very disorganized at times with little process in place, I understand it is a small company, but it has been around long enough to have things in place and organized better. Be aware if you are considering joining PointCare. They are still figuring things out, which is a yellow flag for a company that has been around since 2012 with pretty much the same headcount as when they started This isn’t a typical startup with VC money. I would say they are just a small company No HR in place and it shows and again it points to not having processes in place. The culture was okay, but somewhat odd and phony as well. Also, it appeared to me that certain employees were favored and given more leeway in their roles.

No future here

Pros

I made so many friendships that I will keep for a lifetime that I had the opportunity to work with.

Cons

PointCare doesn't know what direction they want to head in. It is constantly changing focus, priorities, & product to find what works. As of now nothing is working as they just did a huge reduction in force. With a company as small as PointCare to eleminate almost half of the staff tells you the future of this organization.

Pros

- Incredibly strong culture that has resulted in a close-knit team. The cultural foundation that we built has helped us to transition to, and even thrive as, a mostly remote team (during COVID). - Management does a great job recognizing each employee's strengths, even if those strengths fall outside of the role that they were hired to perform. As a result, employees have the opportunity to learn new skills, grow into new roles, and use their strengths to contribute in a fulfilling way to the success of the team. - Strong interview process that allows candidate & team to really get to know each other.

Cons

- The typical growing pains that come with a small team (i.e. wearing many different hats, sometimes to the point that it's difficult to focus on your core responsibilities) - Sometimes management is not on the same page, or items get lost in translation from one manager to another
