Pros

I started at Polarsteps as a freelancer for what was supposed to be a a project of only a couple of months. I ended up loving it so much I stuck around, became an employee, and am now close to my two-year-anniversary at the company! What I love: * Transparant interview process with a very human approach * Truly great onboarding experience, lots of time taken to make candidates feel at home * Work-life balance is really important at Polarsteps: I don’t work overtime and parents in the team are given the flexibility they need to manage their home life * As an employee I’ve never felt more appreciated. It’s the little things: a thoughtful postcard when you’re going through something, or a gift when you’re celebrating a personal win * I sincerely like every single person I work with. They’re such a great bunch of people and there are lots of opportunities for socializing, like Thursday drinks and a book club (during office hours!), but I never feel pressured to join when I don’t feel like it either – we’re a good mix of introverts and extroverts * Giving feedback is actually encouraged and taken to heart – I’ve given lots of it over the past two years and it’s been so great to see changes being made because of it

Cons

What can still be improved: * Salary is discussed during the intro call of the interview process, I hope the salary range will be shared in the vacancies in the near future to make the interview process even more transparent * Diversity & Inclusion is a learning process and first steps have been taken, which has been great to see, but there’s definitely more work to be done when it comes to D&I at Polarsteps * I hope to see a bigger focus on sustainability in the future (we’ve recently started a green team, but it would be amazing to see it become a leadership priority at some point as well) * As a scale up, there are growing pains, and as a company we’re not perfect. But as long as Polarsteps keeps being as transparent as they are right now and continues to be so open to feedback, I think the future is looking really bright!

Pros

An amazing company to work at, especially if you’re into traveling. A small and focused team, crafting a great product that millions of people use around the world. At Polarsteps you will have a laidback working environment, honest and fun colleagues, and enjoy a great salary with a lot of benefits. Everyone that works in the company is highly skilled and fun to be around. There is a lot of room for personal growth and the founding team are open to listen to your suggestions about the product or way of working. If you’re sick of drama and corporate companies, then this is the place for you. Highly ambitious but also grounded. Really feels like a privilege to be working here, keep it up!

Cons

Can’t really think of anything.
