Pros
The company has multiple teams in different countries, but feels like home. Everyone is supportive, especially C-Level. The benefits are exceptional, and salary is good.
Cons
Since it's a Startup, C-level decisions can be questionable. Led to the team in Vietnam lost their deal with potential client back in 2023. 1. Performance reviews appear to be a mere formality, with no tangible outcomes like salary increases or career progression, despite performance. 2. The new manager (Vice president of Business Development) was caused considerable frustration to the team in Vietnam. This guy right after first introduction to the team showed that he knows it all, as if Vietnamese team didn't follow his instruction then can find another opportunities elsewhere. He insists that he knew big names in Vietnam that he could help (VNP, Grab, etc...) even though former employees in Vietnam team got background of high level at VNP company before joining Pomelo. 3. The VP of BD consistently disregarded the Vietnam team's vital input, particularly on essential local matters such as legal requirements, acting as if they possessed superior knowledge without it. 4. Raised and promised the Vietnamese team of salary increase, but then squashed down, telling the team to "must close deal and done, only then, the review will be put to consideration" 5. The Vietnamese team got into laid off near the 4th quartered Townhall. Once again, he showed disrespect to the team, treating the team like expendable by telling the team didn't need to join the Townhall only about 30 minutes before.
