Pros

Satisfying job Discount, if you are allowed it

Cons

Job perks were removed i.e. break times shortened/removed altogether, discounts reduced for friends/family and removed for student customers. No discount as a temp even if you’ve worked there for a long time before. Your agreed hours can be taken from you and given to another employer without being given back. Pay is still minimum wage in London, despite inflation and the company expanding at a fast rate.

Thank you for your feedback and for highlighting some important points. Around the time you were working for us we made changes to our terms and conditions to ensure fairness across the whole company as some of our newer teams came to us with different T&C's than our existing teams. This involved changing our break policy so that all colleagues are treated equally and by extending paid shifts to ensure everyone was paid for the time they were at work. We've had different discounts over the years, some of which have worked and some which haven't, for various reasons. However we continue to offer a generous 40% staff discount to all permanent employees once their probation period is complete. Temporary staff unfortunately don’t receive a discount, as it’s a benefit reserved for permanent team members. Our little business has grown and changed a lot in the last couple of years. There were certainly times when this change caused disruption, which in turn caused uneasiness as it meant doing things a bit differently. We are sorry if you feel this change effected you negatively. While we, of course, want to be successful creating a happy place to work and a happy place to shop for our lovely customers is of paramount importance to us. You raised some important points in your feedback which we have listened to and we've made lots of changes since your time with us. We appreciate all the hard work our team puts in and we will continue to strive to be as transparent and fair as possible with our policies.

Pros

This differs by stores, however the managers and team at the London Bridge branch are lovely.

Cons

Occasionally lack of communication but nothing severe.

Pros

Store manager made workplace a positive environment.

Cons

Need different dedicated teams / departments higher up for when issues occur in store. A lot of weight / extra responsibility put on even sales assistants due to lack of this and you gain nothing from it. Not enough store staff. No real difference between the role of sales assistants and supervisors. No incentives. Sales assistants bare the abuse from customers over senior company decisions.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad to hear you had a positive experience with your store manager — strong leadership at shop level is really important to us. Our little business has grown a lot in the last two years and we hold our hands up to the fact that there were times over that period when things were a little less than calm for some of our larger teams. However since last year, we’ve made a number of big changes to better support our teams, including launching a new company wide app which is helping to deliver better training and communication so that our teams feel more supported and can easily contact someone when they have a problem. Ensuring that responsibilities are shared fairly between team members and that everyone feels confident and valued in their roles has always been very important to us, so we are sorry if you felt you were unreasonably burdened. You'll also be gld to know we've developed more specific training for our Supervisors and as the company continues to grow there are now more opportunities for them to move up to AM and manager roles. We truly appreciate our shop teams and the work they do and we are committed to creating a workplace that feels supportive, inclusive, and rewarding.
