2024 is off to a bang. Within the past week, corporate has implemented 2 retroactive policies (meaning they backdate and are effective Janurary 1, 2024)
1. Our PTO policy was completely overhauled. Up until December 31, 2023, we had a "use it or lose it" policy wherein you could only carry over 80 hours of PTO at the end of the calendar year. In the waning months of 2023, HR sent out an email remdining everyone that the "use it or lose it" policy remained in place.
Fast forward to Febrary 2024, and full-time employees no longer accure PTO. We can request as much PTO as we'd like. But there are a bunch of restrictions. Can't take time off for more than one week. Gone are the employee retention incentives (i.e. longer tenure = better PTO accrual rate).
The announcement was done via a "please read" email from HR. Of course the cowards that made this decision were too afraid to announce this news during an open forum where grievances could be voiced and questions could be asked.
2. ProPharma gives annual raises to full-time colleagues (a measley 2% on average but it's better than nothing). In the past, raises for the calendar year went into effect on April 1st. Once our annual raise was effective, we would receive back pay dating back to all time worked since January 1st.
In 2024, ProPharma has decided that annual raises will continue to go into effect on April 1st.... but they is no back pay this year. So whatever raise we get this year is effectively 1/4 less than it has been in years past. ProPharma says they did this to "align with industry standards." Whatever that means. We all know what it means. They're skimping on hard earned raises their employees deserve.
