Pros

Regular benefits except for 25 days paid vacation

Cons

The whole concept of customizing is great but only if innovation is involved. You would think by looking at the reviews and website that the company is the kind of company that you can have the freedom to create and be surrounded by intelligent, creative and well-educated people - Well, not so much. All is about the acquisition, how all looks like (very pretty but without any personality) running into young people with the too cool for school attitude, immature and insecure. If you are into the acquisition and brand this the place to be. If you are into making hair products, send your resume to the Prose original competitors.

Pros

Work//life balance. Good people who mean well. Company is passionate + makes great products.

Cons

Prose is overexcited to see employees return to the office...... Very pushy given that we are living w/ Covid19. Company is thriving which makes the motives (employees must interact + collaborate) seem questionable/as if the company doesn't have the health/concerns of employees in mind. In person/IRL collaboration for non essential workers which is being pushed by some senior members should not be a priority in a pub health crisis especially since the company is thriving while employees WFH. Limited opportunity to scale within verticals/on some teams as clear policies/companywide guide rails from HR aren't clear or don't exist.

Thank you for your valued feedback. In relation to COVID-19 and our office re-entry plan, no employees are required to come into the office until March 2021 at earliest or when a vaccine/treatment is widely available, and for the handful of employees who choose to come into the office regularly, we have made sure to set up precautions consistent with CDC guidelines to put our employee health and safety as our highest priority. We want to make sure that all of our employees feel safe and comfortable in our office spaces, and encourage anyone to reach out to the People team with specific concerns. In relation to your comment on employee growth, as a 3-year-old startup, we have been fortunate to have early employees contribute to our rapid growth, and hopefully our valued employees have been able to learn and develop along the way. However, we know there are opportunities for us to further improve. Learning & development is a priority for the People & Culture team as well as Prose’s leadership. If you have specific ideas on initiatives you’d like to see be implemented at Prose, we welcome your thoughts. As a current employee, we’d love to hear directly from you. Please reach out to any member of the People team. We look forward to hearing from you!

Don't Do It

Pros

In its earlier years Prose was an enjoyable place to work. Then they started to hire a bunch of people who came from other different corporations and they brought all their corporate bad habits and it started to go downhill.

Cons

if you are a black woman or a person of color they will treat you like garbage. They tried to seem like they were inclusive but it just came off as racist and out of touch. They create these impossible goals to try to kick you out so they can hire new people and play them less. They will gaslight you and make it seem like you're being difficult when in actuality they just don't want to make Prose a great place to work, they would rather work you like a mule because they pay a dollar more than most jobs in the area. If you deal with any mental health issues DONOT WORK HERE.
