Pros

As others have said you do get your birthday off. The employees that do the hard work are great.

Cons

If you go back and look, every time a honest review is posted about how bad the work environment is and how the company treats people, there is magically 1 or 2 reviews a few days later that are all positive and has zero cons or anything negative to say. I have worked at a few companies now and I have never heard anyone ever say they love everything about their job and there is not one bad thing to say. I have also never heard of an employee putting exclamation points after I love my job in the cons section of a glassdoor review unless it is someone from the HR department trying to pass a fake review so they can keep their most recent posts up and trick people into working at Purple. If you want to know if you should take a job at Purple, go back and filter by date and look at the positive reviews and now fake they are as the HR department writes them after a bad 1 star review is posted. Expenses are still done an excel spread sheets and they try to nickel and dime you everywhere. Do not expect to eat well when you are traveling. Company party was cancelled because of how much it costs to have in the UK and fly people from all over the world to Manchester and it would not look good to the investors if tens of thousands were spent on a company party and get together. I have never worked at a place where the HR department and CFO have had to ask former employee(s) to remove their glassdoor review because it was hurtful and would make it hard to hire new people. The issue is everything in the post that Purple got taken down was 100 true and Purple did everything they could to take it down as who would want to work at a call center that is micro managed with bad healthcare, way too many different software tools to track what everyone is doing at all times, incompetent managers and what it says in the job posts are knowingly false by the HR team but they are trying to trick people into working here as if they put what the job duties actually were, they would not be able to hire anyone with experience.

Pros

You get your birthday off.

Cons

Very low lead stream. Marketing and partners provide very little leads. Be prepared to 100% self-gen. Career postings are misleading stating there are lots of leads. Top down structure - no open door policy to top executives. Very old-school approach to management. No long term strategy. Only focused on # of calls you made today and cost of sale to report back to investors. With goal of selling the company, employee engagement, competitive salaries, job enhancements are not a priority. No documented strategy to drive channel sales within each region. Regional leadership not focused on meeting channel execs or driving relationships from top down. Only pushed to managed metrics. High turnover in leadership roles. Can not seem to keep executives in the field. Misleading about having 24/7 support. Minimal bilingual coverage. In-country tech support is limited. No ownership on issues. Customers wait days and weeks to get a resolution. 2 customer success managers to cover entire globe. A blind eye is turned to those take part in inappropriate activities (at tradeshows or exec meetings) as long as they are managing their sf.com and they are not voicing opinion.

Pros

Easy drive to work... decent parties.

Cons

I feel like the company is on the brink of imploding. Having just released a "new" overhaul of the portal it is full of issues. Despite repeated concerns being raised from a number of the development team it was more important to get out a product announcement than make sure it worked! React isn't fit for the purposes needed and rather than patch the stack a complete rewrite on a more suitable platform would be time better spent. Getting press headlines and exposure seems to be more important to management than creating a useful product, take the time and product will speak for itself. With a loan of 5 million a while ago followed by a "top up" I now worry each payday, concerned if my pay is going to make it into the bank. Don't loans need to be paid back? With what money! There has been rumors of sale multiple times over the past two years but it never comes to anything,. I feel management are fluffing for sale rather than focusing on building the business and a valuable product. I came here to build a product not help in a PR exercise. Bad management. Changing priorities without consideration. Changing directions constantly. In-fighting
