Pros

Hard to get fired from so I guess you can say “stability”

Cons

Hard to fire anyone awful from there aswell so all the sexual harassers and abusive managers/supervisors/pathologists are never gonna leave either. Impossible to progress to higher positions as the place is about how well you suck up to and/or have connection to a manager. I’ve witnessed so many awful things - from pathologists abusing staff, women being sexually harassed and management not doing anything about it, people being bullied, incompetent people being promoted, dodgy work protocol with laboratory work.

Pros

QML is always hiring. It's the only place that will take you if you need some experience. Great for employment during a pandemic.

Cons

QML is always hiring cause they don't pay their staff a livable wage. You get more money filling shelfs at a supermarket than you do a Scientist at QML. The company made a huge profit in the pandemic, and to thank us for all our hard work, they wouldn't move you up the run cause they "don't have the money for that". QML legit got the AFL, NRL, Soccer and GOVERNMENT contracts, which was a multi million dollar success, that they refused to pass down to the people that worked the +14 hr shift, 7 days a week. Good to know that the time I miss out with my family for Christmas was lining your pockets. You will get bullied by management, the best part is when they are hot and cold to you. You could legit bend over backwards to help them out, but the next day you are slapped with a non conformance cause you didn't do a certain thing right (even though you aren't "signed off" to do that shift). Thank you is not a word they are used to, and it makes you feel like you are constantly replaceable (which you are). Get ready for 6 day work weeks which you can't opt out of, cause its mandatory. You wanted that Saturday off in a months time? You sent an email to the relevant bosses and they responded that its okay? Too bad, you've been rostered on for it.

Pros

My colleagues and direct supervisor are amazing people. They were the sole reason for me staying as long as I have.

Cons

Pay is far below market value, even with penalties. Middle and higher management is a joke. We asked for better wages and they gave us a lanyard and a notebook.
