We rode the highs, but also the lows.

Pros

Great office location Free food Team Building Outings (if you're on a fun team that does those) Summer Friday's Company parties Generous bonuses when the company is performing well Ability to shift to other areas of the company if you are unhappy in your role Many low level employees (CS, Sales) are promoted to other teams if they perform well

Cons

Well...they just laid off half the company so that should tell you that growth is no longer an initiative. The skeleton crew that is left is mainly family members and friends of the founding employees. With that, instability is a common occurrence at the company. Not just "Oh, we are a startup, startups are unpredictable" instability, but real life craziness. Some days are fantastic, others are straight up miserable There is a definite Frat Boy mentality, from the bottom to the top. As a woman working on the 2nd floor, this was especially prevalent. Remote employee

Pros

I was hired as a remote employee during COVID and have genuinely found the job fulfilling. I have gotten nothing but positive feedback from my boss since I have been here. When I’ve needed help, my coworkers have been helpful and friendly. It’s been a supportive environment. In my yearly review I was told I am a solid performer.

Cons

Today we had a meeting about remote work. We were told that remote work is ending for most employees except those who have been grandfathered in. It was weird to attend because it seemed to target all remote people. There was a large emphasis on how people needed to be in the office to “get to the Super Bowl”. As a remote worker (hired and grandfathered in now) it seemed like we were being told that people like me are not the type of worker that will get the company where they think we need to go. Weeks ago I was told I was a solid performer, today I’m told by those in charge that I’m not the type of employee who could be a positive impact. It’s really disheartening. With the company having done two recent layoffs I feel like remote workers are at risk because there is a want to only have people who can commute in.
