Let me warn you about our managers. They're locked into a "Bro" vibe? If you're not part of that crew, gaining respect is almost impossible. They're all about the "Bro" life, and if you're a woman or have a different personality style, brace yourself for some nastiness, especially on Slack. These people are clueless about what comes out of their mouths too. Complaining on the work chat about snacks when the snack person's on PTO? Seriously? They're also suspicious, always on the lookout for who's slacking off. Calls folks out on Slack without much rhyme or reason. Thinks someone's late without even checking if they're just grabbing a coffee or using the bathroom. Then there's their thing about talking down to the team, but they're all chummy with their equals and higher-ups. Messes up, and they'll either pass the blame or be like, 'Whoops, my bad! Hahahah,' WAY more laid-back than if anyone under them made the same mistake. On Slack, they're a classic keyboard warrior, especially if you're not on their level or higher up. They're aggressive to the point where it ruffles feathers. It's like they're trying to be the office tough guys. People steer clear of them on Slack, because their replies are condescending, pedantic, and just plain unfriendly. It's not the first time they've made people cry because of their Slack messages either. It makes the workspace tense, and with not much oversight on their behavior (which wouldn't fly back in the States), it just keeps on going.
