1. The role comes with consistently high demands and expectations that can be met. However, there's not even a compensation package reflecting the level of output and pressure required, especially given the priority is always on execution above all else. I'm an outsourced remote employee and the market rate is very low for the work expected. There are no salary review cycles, real bonuses, nor benefits. Just more work. Also, no equipment provided because it is "too expensive".
2. Unsolvable structural issues, consequently, support is left to handle only the bad scenarios, which leads to constant fire-fighting instead or real help. The rest of the company is fine as long as someone takes the blame for a faulty product.
3. Transparency is a major issue. For example, there have been instances of inauthentic reviews posted to improve public image, which feels misleading when customers continue to experience recurring delivery problems. Additionally, internal requests have been made that seem completely disconnected from reality, for instance, asking to limit interactions with certain groups of workers, despite the business heavily relying on outsourced non-english-speaking migrant labor. I was hired without being told that part of my salary is a "bonus", instead I was told, that was the budget for the position. And so on, I could write a whole blog about this.
4. Talent is clearly not a priority here. There is a noticeable lack of interest in retaining skilled employees as the company seems to prefer churn over investing in the people already doing the work. As a recent example: an external Team Lead was hired and had to be trained from scratch, only to leave shortly after. This was a wasted opportunity, especially when capable internal candidates were overlooked. Unsurprisingly, there are no real internal growth opportunities.
Churn rate is high, I've seen more than 6 people leave already.
