      Pros

      All are coated in sugar and everything nice till the global layoff happens on the 26th July 2022. CEO just said, opps I've messed up. And yes, the 10% of the luckiest members had the best news of all.

      Cons

      The most recent layoff globally was done unemphateticly and so impersonal. There were no warnings and armed with just an announcement and we the lowly workers had the worst shock of our lives where we were locked out from everything except for a FAREWELL SLACK. Meeting 1:1 with the Director is no help as well. Reading from a script.

      Fantastic pay package , permanent work from home culture, good brand name

      Cons

      Toxic, politicking, backstabbing culture in the team. A spate of layoffs and resignations has made the team lean to the bone and wary of each other. Unfortunate that this is how Shopify has become. Everyone is walking on eggshells.

      Stagnant and Messy

      Pros

      If you get an awesome team to work in, then that's great. Other than that, it is the remuneration.

      Cons

      We were promised career development within Shopify. And, there was little to none. After a while, you will notice burnouts within Support Advisors. So if there aren't internal movements, the only way to go is out. Team leaders are mostly a miss than hit. You will probably stay beyond your working hours to clear tickets.
