      Used to live their values, now toxic

      Pros

      Decent pay, benefits and virtual events.

      Cons

      Not transparent. Big layoffs yesterday that people didn't see coming. Could have been avoided with better management and careful hiring. Ruled by favouritism.

      Very nice people to work with overall, getting to work on an Edtech product that impacts teachers and students, good autonomy generally

      Cons

      Office politics, large swings in strategy, at times unrealistic goals, people being let go for what seemed like arbitrary reasons

      Nice While It Lasted

      Pros

      - Mostly great people. - No micromanagement. - High level of autonomy. - WLB (not so much the case right now though).

      Cons

      - Likely going out of business sometime next year. - Won't give specifics for obvious reasons but safe to say the financial situation is very dire and transparency is very low as the company is in damage control. - Situation could have been easily avoided if not for leadership making irresponsible decisions. - Mass layoffs, laid off almost 1/2 of staff in the last year. - Key remaining staff leaving likely due to no pay adjustment this year despite increasing inflation and cost of living as well as bleak future,
