Pros
Most of reviews here are reporting good work/life balance, wellbeing and company perks. It is generally true but it is evident these reviews aren't coming from employees working in sourcing or procurement departments. Therefore, if your job isn't going to be in those 2 functions, you will be fine. There are great people at Sidel.
Cons
Sourcing is a quite young function in the company and it has always suffered an unusual turnover of buyers and even managers; the company is uncapable to get through the organization the suitable perception of a function that is considered strategic everywhere in the manufacturing but at Sidel. It's been always like that and I am told that 2021 material shortage is making things even worse since headcount was reduced while expectations have hugely increased! No time or money was ever invested in training or induction. Very few committed, mostly skilled, selfmotivated but poorly paid buyers are assigned dozens and dozens of suppliers, even 100/ea, to be managed across the whole business with no local support at plant level. Sourcing managers mostly lead by example and governance and attention to compliance are managed like nowhere, unfortunately demanding targets, crazy workload, lack of recognition and no work/life balance make employees feel exhausted and miserable very soon. Life at Procurement isn't that different. Yearly bonuses are a scam at Sidel and HR is useless. Huge discrepancies of level/treatment in the organization you won't make it up.
