Pros

Friday drinks location Friday Foodie Market some funny clowns in upper management

Cons

I've recently joined them and already looking for a job. It is a big company run by tiny brains. They hire experienced and smart people and have no clue what to do with them. Very quickly new people get frustrated by doing pointless projects and having stupid fights and leave. culture of bullying and disrespect resistance to new ideas nasty politics too many overinflated managerial egos During induction we were gently asked to make a positive review on Glassdoor. But only if we wish. You know. It's easy for you and good for your company. Not sure if anyone ended up doing this but it is a no-brainer that some positive reviews here are rubbish. Advice to any new starter - don't rush with updating your linkedin profile. There is a good chance you find yourself back to a job market in a few months and it would be not easy to explain why you want to leave a job this soon.

Pros

Friendly co workers, free breakfast, fruits, friday beer, nice office views, pool table, ping pong table, laptops for engineering staff.

Cons

Unbearable micromanagement from recent hires at engineering. Every branch, push, pull request, and even comments are being scrutinized with little constructive feedback. People are being encouraged to find fault in other people's code. A strict development process that adds little value is being enforced without room for compromise. Role of testers is being down played. Developer productivity and morale have dropped significantly.

Thank you for your feedback. We are very sorry to hear you had a negative experience with us. At Siteminder we are working to build a world class engineering team based of the right mix of freedom and responsibility. We know we're not going to get it right 100% of the time but this type of feedback will help us as we scale and grow to be better. Code reviews are a core component of our strategy, together with an improved hiring and feedback process, agile transformation and a strong shift towards automation in testing. We are sincerely saddened that you have decided not to be part of our journey and will review your feedback to improve our internal communication processes.
