      Pros

      Get paid hourly even if commissions not met

      Cons

      The atmosphere here is competitive, stressful and not teamwork oriented. Paid minimum wage and very difficult to actually make commission which is 38%. Salon usually has favorites and if favorites do something wrong they will not get in trouble. Stylists don't always do completely professional work also they need to be retrained how to properly use chemicals on guests. Management knows things are done wrong and they are waiting for stylist to learn what not to do after stylist makes mistakes on guests.

      Pros

      I love the commission scale, and the new methods from the higher ups are so much better than the way the company used to run. They care much more about their employees now. We have a steady flow of walk by clients inside the Walmart, making an ideal location.

      Cons

      Short staffing because stylists are concerned about working "inside Walmart". The POS system has so much room for improvement, such as the ability to set appointments for future dates-getting rid of the redundancy of the appointment book.

      Pros

      Base pay guaranteed, discounts on salon products (20% off normally,50% on the either first or lastof the month), built in walk in cliente, & plenty of stores if you need to transfer.

      Cons

      The base pay is minimum wage or commission, whichever is higher.. The latest commission scale I know of is that stylists for service sales start at 38% and can work up to 43%. Managers top out at 50%. The most commission you can earn on products is 8%. Those are very low figures considering the low price points of services. Very difficult to get help from anyone higher than district leader, & there are seldom good district leaders. (The good ones are lifesavers and absolutely amazing, though!)
