Pros

Great relationships formed. Some very talented employees. Growing industry.

Cons

Work day is anywhere from 10 - 16 hours each and every day, to include weekends and holidays, thus providing no work - life balance. No processes. Irresponsible / incompetent management. No training. No ability to take one's "unlimited vacation days", not enough resources to manage projects, lots of turnover, clients are promised unrealistic timelines then are lied to when nothing comes in on time. Development - clients are very angry that what was promised by upper management is never delivered on time and when finally delivered, the work is sloppy and full of bugs...costing the clients extra money - you get what you pay for. Client Services - this very small department is the "face of Speed Commerce" to each client thus bearing the brunt of the anger. Management can't seem to be bothered to help solve issues or step in as a "superior" voice when things go wrong. When clients finally escalate, senior management promises representation from all departments in daily (sometimes 2 and 3 calls per day) calls / meetings but no one is ever held accountable for not joining. Lots of lip service. Operations - this team is completely overworked and overwhelmed. Fulfillment Team - lies to clients. I enjoyed my early days at Speed Commerce but management changes and ever decreasing resources turned a great company into one that fails in all they do. I honestly hope that things change - there are still a few remaining good people there but I hear that almost everyone is actively interviewing elsewhere. Too bad....Speed could be a powerhouse in the ecomm industry.

Pros

Riding on wave of demand of ATG,Endeca and Oracle Web Commerce products Inhouse developed OMS ( Speed Order) which ,if properly thought of, can be a industry valued product High salaries to technical folks

Cons

Extremely poor and rudderless executive leadership with no solid plans to maintain or expand clientele base Negative work culture and almost negligible co-operation among different teams. Zero focus on employee growth and personal space. Employees are expected to work at beck and call of Sr leadership at ANY time of day, week, year. Zero to almost negligible process or methodologies . Very high attrition rate . Average tenure is between 3-6 months

Pros

If you are not employed, i can’t recommend turning down an opportunity with Speed Commerce. If you are employed and looking for a new opportunity, I strongly recommend reading all of Glass Door reviews prior to accepting any offer from this company.

Cons

Publicly traded company that resembles a small understaffed startup. Prior to making this post, I read through the reviews and have to question all of the positive comments. I don't think they were written by developers or QA engineers. If you are currently employed, have a family and personal life, this is not the opportunity for you. The overwhelming comments regarding poor work life balance and being over worked is true. Projects are over sold and under staffed. Worker bees typically work 64 to 80 hours a week (including weekends) to complete tasking without OT pay. New software projects post delivery are riddled with bugs and hidden from customers. Not a fun place to work at all. The grass is not greener in this pasture. Your family will be impacted if you work here and your stress levels will rise significantly. Future employee beware. You might consider one or two poor ratings a disgruntled employee, but 90% of these reviews are not positive. That should tell you something! The health insurance is just as bad ask the work environment and the company uses a LOT of offshore resources to save money. I see the entire development shop moving offshore at some point in the near future.
