Pros

- Genuine commitment to work-life balance as evidenced by the very generous annual leave, sickness, and parental leave policies! - Genuine commitment to employee wellbeing as evidenced by the gym contribution, book allowance, and regular coaching calls! - Culture of positivity, transparency, and openness. We give honest critical feedback as well as enthusiastic praise for a job well done. This results in an environment where constructive criticism flows freely and no-one gets upset, in fact we thank each other for the opportunity to improve! This is a no BS culture that ultimately strengthens relationships and makes us all better at what we do. - You get to work with talented and charismatic people who you can learn from and laugh with. - Because the company is small you are required to do a diversity of different tasks. If you like variety this is a pro! I get to learn about things besides my primary role like good customer support, design, analysis, data security, and product development in general. - The founders are not just my bosses, they are mentors and friends who I believe genuinely care about my personal development and wellbeing. They inspire me and challenge me to be better. - My ideas are taken seriously and often result in change to our practices. My superiors trust me and are constantly trying to find ways to better empower me and give me more freedom in what I do. - Willing to invest in nice tooling and try new technologies.

Cons

- Because the company is small you are required to do a diversity of different tasks. If you don't like variety this is a con! You might just love coding and then realise you don't get to do as much as you might at larger companies with more dedicated development resources. - Sometimes what I consider industry-standard software development practices are not in place and meet resistance when introduced to the team. As mentioned in the pros they are very receptive to ideas and change so this is usually not much of a problem but there are still some sticking points. - The company relies on manual processes a lot and is hesitant to invest time in automation. Although the manual processes themselves are very well refined and supported this can still lead to some tedious and time-consuming tasks. - A lot of importance is placed on personal development which is a good thing but the goals set can sometimes lead to pressure to work late which contradicts the company's "enjoy the journey" core value. This can easily be solved by being more data-driven about the goals set to make them more realistic (and I'm confident this will eventually be addressed).

Pros

- A supportive environment to take on new challenges, where you will be encouraged to reflect and learn. - A lot of variety and possibility to add value to any area of the business. - Helpful and proactive team of people with great brains to help you problem solve with. As well as clearly documented processes & procedures to support you in your day to day. - The prospects & customers that you are working to make happy are engaged, people-focussed and really lovely.

Cons

Not necessarily cons for everyone: - As a small and ambitious team expect to wear different hats and move fast - As a remote team that works hard to foster relationships expect a lot of internal video meetings for work topics & social chats

Pros

Spidergap has been transformational in terms of how I view work, and balance it with life. Every person, and mostly every process at Spidergap, stays true to the 5 core values that we have: - Focus on impact: Every single (work oriented) meeting at Spidergap has a set agenda and time limit (which is strictly adhered to). They start with a summary & quick prioritization and end with a super quick recap, and next steps that everybody agrees on. It is beyond refreshing to be part of such a setup. Even the 10 minute meetings are _designed_ to maximize impact, make sure everyone's heard, and we value the time of all involved - and this focus on impact extends to all the other bits of my workday. - Be proactive and dependable: At Spidergap, I work with some _extremely_ smart and driven people. It constantly feels like the team is punching way above its weight simply because everyone does their best to be proactive and dependable - all the time, on good days and bad. - Pay attention to detail: Our customers _LOVE_ us because of how often we get the little things right - see our reviews on Capterra! Even at a team level (Engineering & Product), one of the reasons we get a lot done with a small team is because we're always switched on - from design, to development to our thorough peer review process! - Always look to improve: There is a strong emphasis placed on personal development, and everyone on the team - from your manager to your peers - helps keep you accountable and celebrates your progress towards those goals. In addition to the weekly 1-2-1's, coaching and mentoring happens over performance reviews and 360 feedback (yes, of course we use Spidergap to run our 360's :P), a generous learning allowance is provided to help you upskill yourself and keep growing. - Enjoy the journey: The big one. It's hard to put into words how different working at Spidergap feels - I've had my manager reach out and express concern over why I was online after work hours, I've had co-workers coach me on how to plan out a great holiday, I've had calls revolving solely around designing a healthy exercise regimen - there's a LOOONG list of anecdotes I can share. The underlying theme here - is that the company and the people here actually want you to be _HAPPY_ at work and outside of it. We don't work ungodly hours, but we get an ungodly amount of work done in that time. Oh, and we have some frankly bonkers annual meet-ups! Long story cut short, Spidergap has a truly world class culture, embedded in its very DNA. I am challenged at work, and happy outside of it - and know that the people I work will celebrate every small success and cheer me on when the going gets tough. My Mondays and Wednesdays are just as great as my Fridays at Spidergap :D

Cons

- The size of the team and the scope of the work we do often necessitates that we wear multiple hats - can be a bit overwhelming for people who're not inclined towards a small bit of multitasking. - We're a 100% remote team, distributed over North America, Europe, and Asia - which makes it damn near non-negotiable to have superlative written and verbal comms.
