Pros

Basic salary is decent and above the national average. The good news is that it took a while but there is HR in place so hopefully if given the right mandate things might actually improve. It won't be an easy task but it's a step in the right direction. There are some very talented individuals, especially in the US and Israeli offices whom it was a pleasure to work with. These people in particular deserved to be looked after as much as possible.

Cons

Firstly I joined Splitit initially with some degree of reservation. This was really due to the fact that the contract was the absolute legal bare minimum - sick days weren't even included in any contract which seems unbelievable which says it all on how employees are perceived within the business. It is very much a Customer First, Employee Second culture even at the expense of the employees well being. Add to that the ever changing goal posts with respect to bonus payment. When I eventually agreed to join I was promised that the contractual situation was going to be reviewed imminently to include additional benefits - unfortunately this was a flat out lie, in fact expect to see a lack of transparency when it comes to bonus calculations and apparently are now only paid out annually which will in turn inevitably demotivate employees even further. From a senior management perspective, particularly in Europe there is a significant leadership deficiency where by from my experience the vast majority of those with line management responsibilities are career politicians with the motivation of self preservation rather than leading, supporting, developing and nurturing their team. Senior Management regularly glorify the amount of working hours they do which as a result guilt trips junior team members into working longer hours at an expense to their well being to the point of beyond burnout while also transferring their stress onto others which in turn creates a vicious circle. The general response when raising such concerns is that the business is a "startup" and that the extra hours are a part of what startup culture is all about. Needless to say this is a complete fabrication of reality and is the result of poor management and failing to hire quicker for skills gaps for which many in senior management won't take personal responsibility for.

Pros

Nothing beyond central location in Tel Aviv

Cons

Terrible culture, very unprofessional managers, and double standards everywhere in the company. If you have connections with investors or are close to higher management, for example, you can just not deliver. There are a few great employees, which take ownership of their work and are great to work with. Unfortunately, this is more of an exception than a rule. Taking ownership and actually getting the work done is not something seen in Splitit's organization. This is a company where there a lot of directors in the title, with no real team, or a 1 or 2 persons team, but do like to pass on their workload and get credit for it. Managers have no boundaries, will call you for non-urgent matters at any time, and expect you to be available. Harassment from management was very common throughout the whole time I worked there. No real career opportunities inside the organization, but most importantly, no real interest in having it. Splitit is not interested in making its environment a healthy work environment. There's no proper HR. You get this lack of interest at the organization's core, no HR, and unprofessional (even unexperienced) managers and it gives you the worst combination for a serious professional who is looking to develop himself and grow. Or who would just like to work in a healthy environment and be respected as an employee.

Pros

Base salary is decent as well as benefits.

Cons

They literally do not set you up for success here and is essentially a sink or swim environment. Expectation of the role was completely different from what was explained during interview. No leads whatsoever and essentially spend your entire time cold calling and prospecting for a supposedly “senior manager” position. There’s no training, no management oversight. No explanation of how commission works or what your expected goals/targets are. Within a few months, the entire executive team was let go or quit (CEO, CCO, head of sales, VP of marketing, Director of Customer success) to name a few. Ended up having likely having massive budget cuts and cleaned house. Ended up firing people after being told directly their job was safe. Decent product but are so far behind the competition.
