Pros
Excellent training and hands-on experience in structural engineering/commercial construction field. Good place if you are desperate, or trying to "get your foot in the door"
Cons
Management viewed the engineering dept as a "necessary evil", since it didn't make money. The owner eventually lost interest in having an engineering dept, and outsourced all work to India, laying off experienced personnel. The owner would not even show his face at the "layoff" meeting. Impossible to advance in engineering dept, due to the fact the manager's son worked in this dept, along with the supervisor's son. Very high turn-over rate overall in the company.
