Pros

I really like my co-workers

Cons

Steward purchased our hospital system a year and a half ago. We were optimistic that we would have improvement. We were told our clinical programs would be expanded and staffing would be beefed up. Since the take over they have made so many cuts that we are barely operational. They terminated our entire case management department, then "realized" we didn't have ANY case managers, so they rehired one of them at a lower rate. They lowered the pharmacist starting wage by $12/hr. They won't replace positions when people leave and we have non TELE trained nurses working the TELE units because they short staff so bad. While making all of these cuts, they purchased 17 Nissan Rogues with the Steward logo, that literally sit in the parking lot and I haven't seen any of them move in 3 months. There are vendor accounts that haven't been paid in several months, yet they just purchased a new hospital in Texas. Their focus seems to be to become the biggest hospital company in the world... not patient care.
