Pros

The people you get to work with is the biggest pro. We got lunches family style for thanksgiving and christmas until covid hit. All that was considered too close proximity to sit together. Even though we were all touching the same products day in and day out. I started in shipping in 2018. I wasn't expecting a lavish job. I was told there would be little to no room for advancement by current employees. So I did not have high expectations. I felt appreciated at first. Then one of the owners past away. Then covid hit. Now go to cons....

Cons

You are appreciated in the moment of working hard. The moment the owners and CEO feel like you are no longer an asset. Even if you are having an off day; you're treated poorly. Yelled out by Scott, Tom, Or Donna for your lack of working to that top teir work even when some of us are not only doing our job but those around us who are not there due to illness or just they just walked out due to poor working conditions. Management and upper management bully and ridicule those around them to feel better about themselves. It has only gotten worse over the last few years. I went to Human Resources about these issues time and time again. Thinking maybe if I stood up enough and used my voice things would get better. All it did was put a target on my back. I finally had to put my notice in and walk away. Myself and so many before me tried to make a difference on the inside. All it did was make our working conditions uncomfortable and unproductive. I know that Tom and Donna can be better. I have seen it. They are choosing not to be. One of my coworkers who had been a long time employee recently got let go for standing up for a new hire who was being bullied and ridiculed by a manager and her staff member. In her doing so she got let go for being toxic and no longer an asset for the company! That just makes me sad. She was using her voice to stand up for someone who had just started. How is this toxic? I just pray that things will change. I am sad to say I will never work for the Fosters ever again as they have lost all my respect. If I had any advice to give to those who work there or will work here. Treat it as a job. Do not get sucked into there games and bullying. The "family" they promise you is one that will kick you when you're down and laugh at you.

Pros

There are always treats in the break room and there are plenty of amenities for staff to have in their off time.

Cons

It's a good place to work if you don't care about upward mobility. Despite the open communication suggestions aren't heeded, and despite the owners being visible they're still in the clouds.

We certainly appreciate the feedback and we do listen. We launched our Pay Level Chart this year so that everyone knows the upward mobility available. We also regularly promote from within. We appreciate the variety of backgrounds our staff bring to Strapworks, and the insight helps us make changes and adjustments to grow the company. Starting from nothing in a bedroom of our house, to now having 60,000+ square feet of warehouse and 70 employees, is something we are proud of and certainly would not have been able to accomplish without our great employees. Over 16 years we have had 180 employees and have 70 of those now. We are proud to also state that 23% of those that leave come back and re-apply. We aren't perfect for everyone, sometimes it doesn't work out, but everyone we do hire we want to succeed and we will do our absolute best to make that happen. Work/life balance

Pros

The 3 day weekend is so helpful for mental health and work/life balance. The owners want to get to know you and treat you like a person. They are accommodating when possible. No job is always fun, but I have enjoyed this job and the schedule more than any other.

Cons

It is a small, family owned business, so they can't always pay the best. They can be slow to make technological improvements or procedure changes. They do take employee suggestions, though. They do group employee development training on general topics. Maybe more individual/specific would be good?
