Pros

PROs of this position include Employment/Benefits

Cons

Minimal guidance from leads/management; poor communication; undercutting pay and getting rid of senior people to hire younger employees; contracts are diminishing and quality of positions are doing the same. Internal (HQ/HR) business processes are lacking. Clique and friend based to move up. (HQ)

Thank you for providing this feedback. Let’s have some real talk. Your experience at SA is not at all in line with our intended Vision and Mission (http://www.sainc.com/who-we-are/our-vision-and-mission). While we work tirelessly to ensure all employees experience a positive and productive working environment, sometimes it’s not a fit. We understand that SA is not where you wanted to be—and that’s ok. No hard feelings. We wish you all the best in your next position.

Pros

Great paid time off. All Federal holidays+ generous vacation AND sick leave :) Education reimbursement (standard IRS allowance) + paid for my professional membership. Compensation was within industry standards.

Cons

I personally didn't have good management. Repeatedly asked for assistance and training and was denied any help. Direct manager had no training in management and said some things at times that HR would have cringed at. Client-site had a large amount of contractor turn-over because the work environment could be difficult. When I read other reviews that say "family friendly workplace" I'm a bit confused. Those individuals might be at Corporate but on client site there was no telework or flex time perk. After I turned in my 2 week notice, SA stated they would not pay out my vacation leave. I understand that typically sick is not reimbursed, and SA stated that they told me during orientation vacation is not paid out for employees who stay less than a year. I honestly don't remember my orientation- but I feel like I usually remember things like that. I still found this odd- I have never even heard of a company NOT paying out vacation, but my previous employers before SA were larger, more established entities so maybe this is the industry norm? Also when I put my notice in, no one from SA management/HR ever contacted me to ask me why I was leaving or what they could do to retain me (except at my exit interview.) I was a little hurt that they didn't even care enough to just ask me why I was leaving. Possibly they are just so used to the turn over that they don't have time or the desire to?

Pros

Really great, caring people work there.

Cons

The company as a whole is struggling with its identity as it transitions from a small, family owned consultancy, to a mid-sized, established contractor.
