Student Media Group present college students with a one-stop-shop internship. Instead of just focusing on teaching you the skills you need to perform the specific tasks at the company, they give you the tools you need to be successful in all aspects of life. The main foundation of the internship is communication. You learn how to connect with people of all personality types. Striking up a conversation with a complete stranger is no longer a challenge. Another key skill is problem-solving. You really learn how to think on your toes and not freak out if something doesn't go the way you originally planned. But the best thing about this internship is that it showed me how I can be successful just by being myself. There is no "perfect" way to go about doing something. You need to take the skills you're taught, apply it to yourself, and go for the gold. I wouldn't be the person I am today without this internship. P.S.
