Pros

Great place for career managers, short skirts, boot-lickers. If you want a place which will never expose your incompetency, Cerebos is the place to be.

Cons

Constant restructuring. Management does not provide direction for business and brands. Lack of transparency. Senior management drives personal agenda. Terrible culture: not a place that allows for open communication, trust.

Main Issues: Corporate Culture and Management

Pros

- Benefits galore (however, they are slowing being taken away, eg. no more 430pm workout time as of 2015 - Work-life balance is a big part of company culture - Low to middle managers are great people to have as friends, though can be rather cliquish - Big emphasis on training and development - Most managers are a pleasure to work with, but they seem to be losing a lot of spark and hope as the years go by (see Cons)

Cons

- Red tape everywhere - don't expect your new perspectives to be entertained - Culture of secrecy and backstabbing - everyone is on a "need to know" basis and thus you never get full picture - They reward bootlickers and suck-ups more than hard work and smart ideas - Management is slow, aged, and resting on their laurels - Management does not engage with low to middle managers, strong emphasis on hierarchy and processes. There is no open door policy. - Culture of micro-managing by managers as there are many people you "cannot offend" or "like it a certain way". This mean productivity is low and processes are long drawn out - Death by redundant meetings and powerpoints - always need to meet and do decks for no rhyme or reason. All of this results in low productivity and work done as you are basically worried about whether your manager is going to backstab you or wasting time doing another powerpoint that can be solved by a call.

Slow, unprogressive and highly political

Pros

Staff benefits are pretty decent and it might sound ridiculous as one of the pros, but the food options here at their Singapore office are amazing! Centrally located amongst 3 renown Hawker centres (Amoy, Maxwell and Hong Lim), the variety during lunch is hard to beat.

Cons

For someone who is ambitious, career driven and hungry to learn, this definitely isn’t the place to be. Progression isn’t necessarily based on merits, and there is lack of in-house talent nurturing programs. From the interaction I have had with the various department heads/managers, I believe most are not properly trained and equipped with managerial and leadership skills, which often result in low team morale and overworked subordinates. As the Organization is highly divisive with different political factions rooting for different agendas, it’s really a matter of whose favour are you in that ultimately gets to move things instead of sound and strategic reasoning. This isn’t uncommon across organisations but the divisive nature of how business teams are formed only serve to compound this issue more.
