Pros

Used to be a good company with technology advanced product, but now…..NONE!!!

Cons

Don’t even bother to work there. President only trust and treat his own family (practically every family member works there!) well but treat everyone else like thrash! Don’t give pay increment, give below market package, and don’t trust anyone, and just ask you to get off the moment he does not like you.

Pros

- You have the chance to work with knowledgeable people and if you’re smart you would learn from them. There’s no training so you have to steal it yourself. - Health insurance is good. - 401K

Cons

- Awful and greedy management (no matter how the economy is you won’t get a share) - Seldom raises. Every 4-5 years you get 3-5%. The company raises insurance premium at the same time so you get nothing. - Discrimination - Relatives of manager and big guys (Clan) and a few spoiled employees get bonus and raise every year. Most of do close to nothing that brings money to the company. - Constant effort to ruin your self esteem (so you can be controlled). No matter how clean and accurate your work is, they would always find something to nag. You’ll be asked to match standards that nobody practices at SynQor. - You’ll be underpaid (around 20%) all the time - Your hard work is not recognized and appreciated (clan members get the raise/ bonus,...) - Be ready to accept responsibility of the someone else’s mess (again that’s part of the effort to humiliate you so you won’t ask for raise....) - Non compete you have to sign before joining the company. Should you decide to leave, you can’t work for companies who does the same type of business. - No paid overtime - No profit sharing - No room to grow. Company is flat so you hit the ceiling as soon as you walk in - No publication or attending conferences. Not exposure to outside world - Travel is just for the chosen ones

Pros

SynQor has some of the best designers and technolgy for power management. Started by an MIT Professor in the mid 1990's it started out focusing on DC to DC converters for telecom. Their power conversion efficiencies were dramatically higher than anyone in the marketplace. They have since expanded into AC-DC and all forms of power conversion and into all marketplaces like Medical, Industrial, Transportation and particularly Military. Everything is manufactured in-house and their manufacturing capability is outstanding. Complete component traceability has existed since the early days and every piece of equipment is networked and extensive data is collected and archived indefinitely. All testing data is similarly collected and archived.

Cons

As many others have commented, the upper management team has given preferential treatment to their family members and advancement for outsiders is restricted. The company founder bestowed co-ownership of the company to the upper management team and as such co-ownership of the profits which they have been reluctant share with anyone outside their inner circle. As has been repeatedly stated, raises are rare and salaries are significantly below industry averages. It is a great place to learn from an industry leader but eventually even the most loyal worker leave for better pay and benefits. They would be better served to spend more money paying people to stay instead of wasting it on recruiting and training new employees. The currect CEO is a capable business manager but he steamrolls over anyone who disagrees with him.
