When I was offered a job here, I thought I'd give it a chance despite these reviews..... oh how wrong I was. Before I started working here, the the rest of the devs planned the project for 1 full year before actually started to write any code, so they understood all the ins and outs. They somehow expected me to understand all this in a few months which I thought was a bit optimistic in their thinking. They insisted I complete some extremely un-engaging video courses on such topics, which was like watching paint dry. Additionally, a certain individual I worked with would seem to start to loose their temper if I did not understand something right away. This made me feel like I was just simply a bad software developer. Fast forward a few months, I'm at a new organisation completing practical tasks at a high standard, and the team really appreciate me. All in all everyone seemed stressed and miserable with rushed unrealistic deadlines and it really seemed like everyone hated their life at this place. The office was also old and dingy and very uninspiring. AVOID

- Weak leadership - unable to drive change - Immature development practices; chaotic, adhoc, individual heroics, unpredictable software. Software is typically unreliable, re-introducing previously resolved issues, uncontrolled feature introduction, driven from development rather than Product Management. Features are typically what the organisation feels the customer wants rather than asking what is needed - Lack of strategic direction, poor communication and lacking in organisational capability. The heroic nature of the majority of projects (both in development and delivery) has created a reliance on "key" people (the "heroes") for strategy and direction. However these staff lack knowledge and experience in areas where the business needs to improve; hence a continuous cycle of emergencies and disaster and an inability to analyse and learn from previous mistakes, or take on-board new ideas or thinking.
