Pros

It’s a good name to have on your CV and the people are mostly great. Office is in a great location for commuting anywhere in Greater London or the south east. Good work from home policy Good socials

Cons

The heads of design are difficult. They’re the reason I left. Both very poor communicators, one in particular seems to pride themselves on being straight talking but frankly it’s just rude and I was often embarrassed when we spoke to third parties or contractors and they behaved like that with them also. They share a role and it’s led to being very inefficient, nothing ever gets done and it’s hard to know who’s actually in charge as they try to override eachother. They also portray a very different image on social media, it’s a lot of cliched nonsense about being a mentor and thought leader but it’s just style over substance and they’re difficult people to get along with let alone work with. Critique for designs was sometimes laughably vague during internal reviews and based on the heads of design just not liking it personally rather than giving critique as to why. Very frustrating and the fact it was laughed off was infuriating. Very cliquey company to work for, it’s hard to embed yourself and it’s not the friendly open culture they claim it is. Appreciate that all companies have some element of this, but it was particularly bad here and it’s very hard to break through to the inner circle.

Pros

Location - right in the middle of central London making it easily accessible from all corners of London.

Cons

- Lack of leadership - Management with little to no experience in the field they are meant to specialise in (including the mid 20's CEO) - High turnover due to junior and mid-weight levels not getting the support, or training, they need to do their day to day tasks - Sweatshop culture - Lack of industry knowledge - Reactive way or working and process - No investment in staff to progress

Pros

Sparkling water in the office

Cons

They were pretty poorly organized, dumping a large number of high priority tickets to the devs, as if marking a ticket as high priority would magically make us work faster. Often tickets given to the devs lacked any description of the task or issue. These tickets are written by Tangent employees, not their clients directly so there is no excuse for the lack of quality. When working on tasks, they'd ask for updates every 20 or 30 minutes, which is very distracting and makes every task take much longer because of the incessant interruptions. Large projects on which months of work were spent simply vanished because management wouldn't know what to do with them. Extremely high turnover rate, coworkers coming and leaving very frequently. They don't value doing things correctly and fixing issue, just selling buzzwords to their clients.
