Pros

Company has some good people (just not at the top). They are in the EWA space which is one where there will be increased demand in the future.

Cons

I knew of the founders checkered past before I started but was not prepared for how unethical and desperate his sales tactics are, or how poorly he treats everyone in the company. He is a heavy micro-manager, who frequently lies, lacks professional competence in almost every way, and does not have a generous bone in his body. His management style is to "treat employees like lemons". As a result, there is currently a mass exodus of employees underway and I am very happy and grateful to have left this miserable place. The company culture has only worsened with their more recent addition in the human resources department, who is merely a tool for the founder's need to further micro-mange the team and emulate the horrible culture of Tapcheck's sister company, Emcentrix. I would avoid this company at all costs, as a career here will likely end like that of the Hindenburg Disaster.

Positive reviews are all fake. Don't work here

Pros

Work itself is easy The product itself is good and it's fun to help business owners get onboarded Remote full time

Cons

Rude upper management Horrible benefits and bad pay Terrible communication between different teams Culture is not collaborative when it comes to problem-solving, it's very blame-focused and punitive While the work you'll do itself is easy and you're doing a good service to the people offering it, I wouldn't recommend taking a job here. The pay is not competitive, and neither are the benefits. Many of the people at the top of the company are not kind and will treat you poorly. Feedback delivered is vague and not constructive and, as another review mentioned, when you follow that feedback you will still be punished. Keep searching - the positive reviews are fake.

Worst mistake to ever work here. Be warned!

Pros

It’s easy to get a job as turnover is so high. They throw lots of parties where alcohol is freely flowing. For better or for worse, you’re judged on the amount of activity that you do rather than actual results.

Cons

Working at Tapcheck is the worst mistake of my career and I should have bailed out earlier when I saw red flags. Everyone was really nice during the interview process and then things completely turned around when I got here. Managers will talk about employees negatively behind their backs to other employees in group meetings and there’s huge micromanagement from the very top to all around. Leadership will tell you to do you things their way and then complain and berate you when you do. It seems that management monitors things like how long you’ve been away from your computer to exact wording of messages sent both internally and externally. So many current employees are job hunting to get away. It’s not uncommon for employees to start and then quit after a month or two. You can check the short tenures of employees on LinkedIn to verify though some people here so short that they won’t even list it. If for whatever reason you consider a job offer, ask your manager for references of former happy employees and if they won’t be able to provide that then consider it a bullet dodged and move on. They offer low wages and limited PTO benefits anyways. Other employees and I question the authenticity of these positive reviews as it seems like a way to boost the Glassdoor rating and hide the real reviews which are bad as there are more positive reviews than the actual number of employees and if you hit the arrow next to the number rating, you can scroll and see that all of a sudden the company goes from under 3 stars to almost 5 stars. Make sure that you were read each review in detail as there should be enough here to prevent you from coming to this nightmare place.
